This wire wrapped piece was made in Montana, USA.
It was wire wrapped as nature left it...unpolished and uncut. No two pieces are alike, truly a one of a kind.
This hand crafted copper wire wrapped pendant measures 3 3/4 inches from the top bail to the bottom, and is 1 inch in width. Photos are of back and front of the pendant, and from different angles.
*In the Roman era, copper was principally mined on Cyprus, hence the origin of the name of the metal as aes Cyprium, "metal of Cyprus", later shortened to Cuprum. Now there are other areas that mine copper which includes Chili and the United States.
It was probably the first metal to be used by humans. They used copper as a substitute for stone by 8000BC and it was first cast in molds by the Egyptians in about 4000BC, along with being alloyed with tin to produce bronze in around 3500 BC.
Because of the use of copper dates way back, there have been many associations physically and spiritually attributed with copper of varying degrees. Some of these include but not limited to: stimulating the flow of energy, enhancing communication, purifying the body and soul, increasing confidence and self esteem.
Physical properties associated with this metal may include: assistance with arthritis and rheumatic diseases, increasing circulation of the blood, reducing inflammation, stabilizing metabolism and improving oxygen use.
*Petrified or Fossilized wood- comes from the Greek word “petro” meaning “rock” or “stone” which literally could be translated to mean “wood turned into stone”. It is a type of fossil, which means the organic minerals have been replaced with often silicate, such as quartz for instance or other minerals, while retaining the original structure of the wood. This process occurs when it is buried under sediment and is initially preserved from the lack of oxygen. The age of petrified wood is wide ranging.
Petrified or Fossilized wood attributions are many and some of them have been known to include but not limited: to be a very grounding stone, stabilizing one’s emotions, and helps in calming survival-based fears. It is said to make one to be more practical, and making one feel more connected to nature. It has been said by some that it is a stone for business success, and has been associated as a stone for protection and love. Some say physically it can benefit the bones, back aches, skin and the hair.
